VIDEO GAME PARTY - ATELIER JEUNE PUBLIC
In coproduction with DOC (St Germain d’Ectot), Video Game Party is a live musical and visual performance. Two musicians (Yann Joussein – drums, electronics, Romain Clerc Renaud - keyboards) play through their instruments - electronic drums, 6 percussions, and synthesizers - to games inspired by Pong, Duck Hunt, Pacman, as well as homemade playful combat games. This performance questions both the musician and the viewer about the impact that music has on the image and vice versa. This setup transforms into an arcade cabinet in which digital musical instruments serving as game controllers are made available to around twenty young participants. This interaction awakens both musical gestures and visual memory or imagination and intuitively leads participants to exploration and sound research.
