COLLEGE ANDRE MALRAUX

BRAZIL MASHUP

This creation by the COAX collective aims to be participatory. Within the performance, space is dedicated to the integration of a group of people from the local community where the representation takes place. It is through this creation technique that the participatory aspect proposed in the collective's project is developed to involve several groups of middle school students in developing their own creation. The work planned with André Malraux middle school was organized around four groups (choir, drums, contemporary music, video) who worked on this multidisciplinary project with Antoine Viard for the sound part and Jean-Pascal Retel for the video part.

Furthermore, the students were welcomed at Le Temps Machine and Le Petit Faucheux to meet artistic teams and attend rehearsals. The interventions began in October 2015 and ended in March 2016 with a residency at Le Temps Machine, which allowed the middle school students to be fully immersed, to take ownership of the stage space, and to finalize the artistic proposal with the musicians and videographers of the project. The middle school students integrated into the 5th performance of the Brazil Mashup artists and performed on stage as part of the Super Flux festival, co-organized by Le Petit Faucheux and Le Temps Machine in March.
